THE ARRIVAL OF SEEDLINGS

Since September 2023, the School Nurseries have begun receiving seedlings for planting in backyards and reforestation areas. As the nurseries are not yet self-sufficient in seedling production, we rely on the supply of seedlings, seeds, cuttings, and branches through our partners at the Terra Vista Settlement, the Cabruca Institute, the State Forestry Institute, the Arboretum Program, and the People's Web. The arrival of the seedlings at each nursery is a joyful moment, marked by the engagement of community agents, nursery workers, youth, and children. The Tikmũ'ũn consider the small seedlings their "sons and daughters," who must be watered and fed until they grow and bear fruit. Therefore, they receive the seedlings with the same joy they welcome distant relatives.

So far our nurseries have received seedlings of avocado | monkey apricot | acacia mangium | açaí | horse whip | blackberry | red angico | canjiquinha anjico | common araça | mata araça | pear araça | araçazinho da mata | aroeira | aroeira do sertão | aroeirinha do Chile | aroeirinha pimenteira | boleira | cocoa | cajarana | cajazeira | cashew | capororoca | pink cassia | pink cedar | copaiba | cork | cupuaçu | curindiba | embaúba | pork embira | emburana | scented emburra | sponge | faveiro | wild bean | flamboiã | agouti fruit | sabiá fruit | guava | guava tree | soursop | guanandi embiruçu | ingá | meter ingá | juice ingá | ingá do Pará | yellow ipê | yellow ipê cascudo | yellow garden ipê | white ipê | fluffy ipê | ipe mirim | ipê mulato | pink ipê | purple ipê | jabuticaba | white jabuticaba | cajá | jackfruit | jacaranda | bahia jacaranda | mimoso jacaranda | jambu | jamelão | janauba | jatobá jenipapo | red juerana | jussara | leucena | papaya | papaya | little papaya | mango | sour mangosteen | passion fruit | maricá | sailor | murici | murici do marjo | nanuscada | cola knots | oiti | kapok tree | juçara palm | garlic stick | viola stick | field peroba | French pine tree | pitanga | pitomba | putumuju | sapodilla | sardine | triples | tuaubá | toucan tree | annatto.

So, Tupã looked at us and brought this good project to revive our forest!

For our yãmĩyxop to walk inside it hunting animals

and bringing food for their mothers to eat and their mothers also bringing food for their children.

This is very important! The yãmĩyxop are very strong and will bring our things back!

And those of us who are now going to work will receive payment and feed our yãmĩyxop!

That's all!

These tree seedlings are for us.

I put a story in my head here.

I understood and put it very quickly

for this very important moment.

These tree seedlings we are planting are of many types.

Fruit trees, and all kinds.

Every kind of tree, you know?

Mango, jackfruit, banana, pineapple,

foods of the Yãmĩyxop.

We are talking here together

For these seedlings to grow,

and grow up very happy.

To keep growing and growing...

For the animals to come back too

with great joy

And they arrive singing,

because there will be a large forest

And then they will arrive

singing to the forest.

Got it? And I'll end here.
